The SIGNAL Light Festival is returning to Prague this year (October 16th to 19th).
SIGNAL turns the public spaces, squares, streets, and parks of Prague, into a giant and light gallery. The festival offers technologically advanced light installations, including many interactive ones, as well as large-scale video mapping projections. Some of the works have already been successfully presented at light festivals abroad; however, a majority of the 20 featured projects has been created for their world premieres at SIGNAL.
Last year’s installations were excellent – I especially enjoyed the projection onto the Church of St. Ludmila at Namesti Miru – see a you tube video that I found taken last year below.
If you are planning a visit to Prague, I’d thoroughly recommend visiting the installations. All are free, although for some (last year) you needed a pair of 3D glasses and (last year) these were on sale for about 50Kc.
