The Signal Light Festival returns to Prague this October. This is a spectacular event with buildings and locations across the city transformed by high-tech lighting – many with accompanying music.

Last year’s installations were excellent. I especially enjoy those where a series of images are projected onto an historic building with music and sound effects.

Here’s a You Tube video of a previous projection onto the Church of St. Ludmila at Namesti Miru:

This year looks even better with a walk through a futuristic landscape at Rašínovo nábřeží and the Petrin (mini-Eiffel) Tower illuminated.

You can read more about the festival on their website http://www.signalfestival.com/2015/en/

There is also an app that you can install.

If you are planning a visit to Prague, I’d thoroughly recommend visiting the installations. All are free*, although for some (last year) you needed a pair of 3D glasses and (last year) these were on sale for about 50Kc.

*Except the video-mapping called Nimbes where you need to pay 990Kc towards the crowd-funding campaign – that gets you two tickets for the unique 360° projection Nimbes by Joanie Lemercier at Klárov, two river ferry tickets, two badges and a festival program. When I checked today there were still 1454 out of 1500 available.
