We were attending a Hidden London event at Charing Cross station – a behind the scenes tour. Shapur is only a short walk away and looked good.
There were three of us and we ordered:
Five papadum £4.74
Pickles £1 – I was a bit disappointed to see these added to the bill as they normally come free
Stuffed murg tandoor £13.95 – a whole chicken breast stuffed with various spices
Chicken curry £10.95 – there wasn’t a chicken madras on the menu
Chicken tikka masala £10.95
Saag aloo £4.95
Coconut rice £3.45
Two keema naan £7.90
A vodka lemonande £5.20
660ml Cobra £5.95 x 2
One rice £5.45
All the food was good and we were so hungry that I didn’t have time to take pictures.
A service charge of £8.05 was added and we were fine with that.
Total £88.50 – not amazing value but also not bad for central London.
I’d probably go back, although I still prefer the nearby Punjab.
