Urban Spree is a 1700 sqm artistic space in Berlin-Friedrichshain dedicated to urban cultures through exhibitions, artist residencies, DIY workshops, concerts, an art store and a large Biergarten. Opening times vary: the gallery and the shop open from 12:00 to 19:00 while the Biergarten opens at 12:00 until 03:00.
I guess that someone owns or rents the entire space and then rents parts of it to galleries, bars and clubs. Either that or it’s some form of collective. Urban Spree has a cool, graffiti, urban, look, with an eclectic jumble of galleries and bars. It didn’t feel dangerous during the day time.
It’s free to wander around and worth a visit. Below a series of photos.
