Hilton Garden Inn, Terminal 2 Heathrow Airport, London, England

The Hilton Garden Inn opened recently and offers direct access to Terminal 2 (and T3 with a longer walk). It’s an interesting alternative to off airport hotels connected via the rip-off Hotel Hoppa service.

I received the following directions from the Hotel by email:

From T5: take the Underground Station or the Heathrow Express Train (both free of charge) to Terminals 2&3. Once arrived please follow the signs to arrivals floor at Terminal 2, go through the Car Park, follow Row B and you will see the entrance to our lobby.

From T4: please take the Heathrow Express train to Terminals 2&3. Once arrived please follow the signs to arrivals floor at Terminal 2, go through the Car Park, follow Row B and you will see the entrance to our lobby.

From T3: follow the signs to Terminal 2, get to arrivals floor, level 1, and go through the car park. From row B go straight and you will see the entrance.

It was about 10 minutes walk from T3. It’s a little strange to have to walk into T2 then out again through the car park.

There was a short tunnel to the reception area.

Check in was quick and easy. The room was classic Hilton, made better by the fact that it was brand new.

As this is a Garden Inn there was no executive lounge, but there was a pretty good bar called Runway on the 14th Floor. The bar was high end for a Garden Inn and could easily be a destination in its own right, especially for aviation geeks – with great views of the runway.
