British Airways have extended the tier status of almost all members of their Executive Club. All members with tier point collection end dates of July 2020 through to June 2021 will have a year added to their end date.

I was starting to think that BA would never offer this. Many other airlines and hotels extended status several weeks ago. Hilton was one of the first to extend status for a year.

Members who had tier point collection end dates in April, May or June this year, don’t benefit from this extension. BA say this is because it had already reduced tier point thresholds by 30% for these members earlier this year. I’m not sure what happens if you had enough to retain status without the 30% reduction and had an end date of April, May or June – I’d consider asking for an extra year.

In addition BA is reducing the number of tier points needed to reach each tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Gold Guest List and Concorde Room Card) by 25% for the year after the 12-month extension.
