Hergetova Cihelna has a fantastic riverside location in Prague, with views to the historic Charles Bridge. We recently attended the re-opening party and decided to return for dinner less than a week later.
The view from our table was fabulous as always.
Our server was professional and friendly – I have a feeling that she was a manager helping out. We ordered two 0.15l glasses of Primitivo (excellent at 105 Kč) and a 0.75l bottle of water (65 Kč). Regular readers will know that I always ask for tap water and the bottle was my mistake – still at 65 Kč it’s cheaper than many places charge for tap water. I managed to successfully order a carafe of tap water afterwards and no charge appeared on the bill.
Our table was nicely set – nice clean linens are reassuring in these germaphobic times.
We both chose the Crispy Duck Wontons, prune sauce, red onion and cabbage salsa | 245 Kč
It’s not often you can say “wow!” when eating a dish – this was one of those times.
We both chose Cihelna Fish and Chips, warm sauce Tartare, green pea, tomatoes, French fries | 265 Kč
Another great dish and a nice take on traditional fish and chips.
Our total without tip 1400 Kč (I had another glass of wine). I consider that good value for the location and quality of food. And it’s great to be able to take a stroll across Charles Bridge afterwards on a warm evening – I took some pictures of Cihelna from the bridge.
