The Hundertwasserhaus is an apartment building designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The building features undulating floors, a grass-covered roof and large trees growing from inside the rooms.

There aren’t any tours, nor can you go inside the apartment building. However, there is an Art Café on the ground floor of the building that is worth a visit.

A delicious Sachertorte (EUR 3.20) and coffee (EUR 2.70) so the place is good value for the location.

We watched a video (playing on repeat) that shows the inspiration behind the building and how it was built. There is a plaque on the outside of the building that also reflects the philosophy.

A short walk away is the Hundertwasser Village, a small shopping arcade created in the same style as the apartment building.

I’d certainly recommend a visit to the Hundertwasserhaus, Art Café and the Hundertwasser Village during your visit to Vienna.
