This deal from Icelandair says from £444. I couldn’t find that price, but did find plenty of availability at £600. All flights stopover in Reykjavík and it looks like you can choose to stay for a up to a week before continuing your journey.

Saga Premium is Icelandair’s business class and includes fast-track security, lounge access, on-board wi-fi, meals and champagne. But don’t expect lie-flat bed seats – the seats are more like premium economy (pitch 102 cm/40 inches and width 51 cm/ 20 inches).

Saga Premium benefits are:

  • Two checked bags (up to 30kg each)
  • One carry-on bag 10kg) and a small personal item
  • Priority Boarding
  • Priority Check-in
  • Fast Track through Security
  • Seat selection
  • More Comfortable Seats
  • Complimentary Meals
  • Gate-to-Gate Wi-Fi Access – Included for two Devices
  • In-flight Entertainment
  • Lounge Access

I’ve seen good reviews of the Icelandair lounge in Reykjavík – well worth arriving early for your flight.

This fare is great value, especially if you plan to spend a few days in Iceland before or after you visit New York. It looks like you can combine the fare with hotels and make a package deal.

If you are thinking of a stopover in Iceland, this video from Icelandair is more style than substance:
