Teesside International Airport (MME) is a small airport serving North-East England, County Durham and North Yorkshire. It’s a tiny airport, but that makes it convenient and quick to use.
New routes have been added, up to three hours of parking is free and the Passenger Facility Fee (£6) has been removed.
The only sad part is that the new routes are from RyanAir. They will fly to Palma (Majorca), Alicante, Faro and Corfu.
Other airlines flying from Teesside are Loganair, Eastern Airways and KLM.
Loganair fly from Teesside to Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, Dublin, Glasgow, Jersey, Kirkwall, London Heathrow, Newquay and Sumburgh.
Eastern Airways fly from Teesside to Aberdeen, Jersey, Newquay and Southampton.
KLM fly from Teesside to Amsterdam.
Teesside Airport has had several different owners since the former RAF station was converted to a civil airport in 1964. In 2014, one owner changed the name to Durham Tees Valley Airport – although local signposting was left unaltered and everyone continued to refer to it as ‘Teesside Airport’. In July 2019 the Teesside Airport name returned.
It’s handy that up to three hours of parking is free as Teesside Airport railway station is almost a one mile (1.6 km) walk from the terminal and only one train per week stops there – that’s at 14.54 on a Sunday!
