The Studio Movie Grill is a cinema that offers large, recliner seats plus table service drinks and food. Tickets are surprisingly inexpensive. We visited to watch Ghostbusters: Afterlife the day it was released.

There are around twenty Studio Movie Grill locations. We visited the Kissimmee/Orlando Sunset Walk location – everything in that area is only a few years old.

I checked beforehand that masks weren’t required.

There is a bar area, but we skipped that as we could order drinks from our seats.

Tickets were less than US$10 and we headed straight to the theatre.

The seats were clean, spacious and comfortable. With ticket prices so low, I wish I’d bought at least one empty seat next to me as later, a family arrived – the father sat next to me and had what could have been a small cold, coughing and sneezing. I didn’t take any chances and moved to another seat a few rows away. Another reason to reserve an empty seat is that your neighbour could easily order and chomp through a large burger and fries!

I’d downloaded the SMG app prior to our visit and was expecting to use that to order drinks – I couldn’t find any functionality for that. Instead, a friendly server visited my seat and took my order – there’s also a service button located in each seat.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife was absolutely excellent and everything promised by Ivan and Jason Reitman at the Ghostbusters Fan Fest in Los Angeles. Don’t leave your seat until the credits have stopped rolling. I just rewatched the movie on amazon prime and it’s even better second time around.

After the movie finished, one guest became the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man

The Studio Movie Grill is the perfect place to watch a movie and I’d recommend a visit.
