The Milan Hilton is a comfortable hotel, just a five-minute walk from Milan’s Central Train Station. The Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano) is just a few metro stops away. It’s a perfect location.

We took an airport bus (10 Euros) from Milan Bergamo direct to the central station. The area around the station is seedy, with plenty of homeless and street vendors, but none appeared dangerous.

Check in was friendly and professional. We had to provide proof of Covid vaccination. As Hilton Diamond, we were upgraded to an Executive room.

The bedside clock was wrong, but there wasn’t any obvious way to change it.

There was the usual safe, bathrobes, slippers, tea/coffee facilities and two complimentary bottles of water that were replenished each day.

The Executive Lounge was open during the evening, with complimentary food and drinks between 6 – 8 pm. With so many lounges closed due to Covid, it was great to see this one open. The quality of the snacks and drinks was very good and the staff were exceptional, offering table service in addition to self-serve.

The lounge also had an outdoor smoking terrace with patio heaters.

The only disappointment was that the lounge was closed during the day.

We ate at Osteria Fara, just a short walk from the hotel and would recommend that restaurant.

Breakfast was very good, with table service for coffee, water and omelettes. Masks were required when visiting the cold and hot buffets and there were plenty of sanitising stations.

The reception desk was more than happy to extend our checkout until 1pm.

I’d happily recommend the Milan Hilton.
