Guisborough is a market town situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Cookfella’s is a wine bar and restaurant with a menu that has something for everyone.

The Cookfella’s entrance is inviting. I personally would have named the place FoodFellas.

And leads to a cosy summer courtyard.

Sometimes, you visit a restaurant and hardly anything on the menu appeals. The Cookfella’s menu was just the opposite – I would have gladly ordered any of the choices. The lunch menu is served to a generously late 4.30pm.

Our waitress was friendly and efficient.

The Mediterranean Platter –  olives, hummus, char-grilled artichokes, charred halloumi, balsamic onions, sun blushed tomatoes Guindilla peppers, warm sourdough bread – (£15.25) delicious.

The bread came with a generous bowl of olive oil – looks like balsamic in the photo but was olive oil.

The Cookfella’s Burger – 6oz beef steak patty, mature Cheddar cheese, smoked streaky bacon, Cookfella’s relish and fries –  (£12.95) a classically-good burger.

The restaurant interior looks good.

I’d certainly recommend a visit to Cookfella’s.
