Pod Leliwą is a Polish restaurant, just a few steps from Kraków’s old town square. Despite the location, prices are very reasonable. The menu includes Pierogi (Polish dumplings) – we tried twenty and they were excellent.
The interior is bright and functional – the moustache guy, who probably wondered why we were taking his picture, added to the atmosphere.
There is a small table with a view to the street.
A 0.125l glass of red house wine was 14 zł (US$ 3). A small beer 12 zł.
There is a good selection of Pierogi, each with different ingredients: veggie, duck, goat’s cheese, beef and bacon and lamb. We chose twenty assorted Pierogi for 65 zł (US$ 14). All were delicious, especially the duck and we were full after ten each.
This place is the real deal and is great value – I’d recommend you visit when next in Kraków.
