Located just outside Riga, the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia features 118 historical wooden buildings from across Latvia.

We took a tram from Riga and then a bus to the museum – total journey time was about 40 minutes.

It’s an interesting and peaceful place to spend an afternoon. Many of the buildings are open and some are manned by Latvians dressed as they would have done for the time period.

There is a bar and restaurant serving classic Latvian dishes and beer for a reasonable price.

Below some pictures so you can have an idea of what to expect.
