Per Te means ‘For You’ in Italian and the Mediterranean menu reflects that name. The restaurant is beautiful, staff are friendly and professional, but we weren’t so impressed by the pasta.
Per Te is in the Vinohrady district of Prague, only a couple of metro stops from the centre.
The tables in the main restaurant are large and nicely spaced.
A 0.15l glass of Montepulciano D’abruzzo Fantini (79 Kč). A 1l carafe of tap water (60 Kč). A basket of fresh bread was free.
Per Te specialises in fresh fish, for example; a grilled fillet of sea bass or bream, calamari, prawns (420 Kč plus the cost of side dishes).
It was a Monday evening, plus Blue Fjord is our go to seafood place in Prague – so we just ordered two pasta dishes.
Linguine with scallops and black truffles cream (299 Kč) – you can pay an extra 60 Kč for any pasta to be gluten free.
To be honest, I didn’t expect my dish to be overflowing with scallops – I would guess there was one chopped into several pieces. There was a small hint of black truffle, but the dish was mostly a big plate of linguine with a cream sauce – I still enjoyed it and ate everything.
Mezzi paccheri gragnano alla calamarata (with calamaris, tiger prawns and cherry tomatoes), but asked to substitute linguine instead of paccheri gragnano (295 Kč). I realise that ‘tiger’ isn’t a size, but the two, un-shelled, prawns were on the small size. The dish was mostly a big plate of linguine with some calamari and a cherry tomato sauce.
Per Te is doing a lot of things right, but skimping on the expensive ingredients isn’t one of them. I’d rather less pasta and more ingredients – and if that isn’t possible for 300 Kč, then charge more.
