Penn & Teller are magicians and entertainers with a current residency at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas. I think it’s the best show in Vegas.

I purchased tickets online in advance and was able to secure two second row seats for $249.08.

We were staying at the Waldorf Astoria – a taxi to the front entrance of the Rio was quick and inexpensive. The Penn & Teller theatre is way over the other side of the casino floor.

There was a bar and we could take drinks in with us. A jazz duo were playing on stage. The pianist was Mike Jones, the bass player, Penn Jillette.

The audience were invited up on stage to examine the prop that would be used in the first trick. I took a picture of the theatre (still filling up) while on stage.

The show was excellent – a classic mix of magic and comedy.

At the end of show, Penn announced that both he and Teller would be outside the entrance of the theatre for meet & greets and selfies. It was great to hear him say that they’d stay until everyone who wanted to meet them had done so and there was no charge – so refreshing these days where celebrities charge for everything.

We had a selfie with Teller.

I wish I’d waited around for a similar picture with Penn.

If you wanted to meet Penn & Teller, you could actually cheat and just visit the theatre at the end of the show – but then you’d miss a great show!

If you are visiting Vegas, make sure you go to see Penn & Teller.
