Bistro 33 refurbished their garden a few months ago – I remember Steven Trumpfheller, from the recently closed U Emy Destinnové restaurant, was cooking for the opening party barbeque. With the Summer in full swing, we thought we’d try the dinner menu.
The restaurant looks inviting (the other side of that board says ‘garden open’).
As you walk in, you can imagine that dinner inside could be good once the cold weather arrives.
But we headed straight through to the large rear garden.
Just to the left of this picture are some deckchairs – not sure if these are for lazy summer drinks or just decoration.
We found a table – this is the view back to the restaurant.
Wherever there is a step/trip hazard, they have added hazard warning tape – I personally would have painted the umbrella base a different colour, but at least it saves them from being sued I suppose.
The Serbian waiter, who may also have been the owner, was friendly and helpful.
A one liter carafe of water was an acceptable 30 Kč. A 0.15l Montepulciano 89Kč.
There was olive oil on our table but bread didn’t arrive until our food arrived and it was just regular Czech bread. I’d happily pay 30 Kč for some home-made bread with sea salt and balsamic vinegar.
The ricotta and spinach ravioli (209 Kč) was very good.
As was the Tilapia and mash (249 Kč).
The Crème brûlée was huge, excellent and good value at 79 Kč.
The toilets were modern, clean and had plenty of hand towels.
We really enjoyed our dinner and I think we’ve found our summer garden restaurant – well that is unless all of you reading this decide to roll up and take over the garden with your kids and dogs!
