Chi Xiao Mian is a Chinese restaurant close to Jiřího z Poděbrad in the Vinohrady area of Prague. Apparently xiao mian means small noodles – but we went for dim sum.

The interior is modern and nicely themed.

A carafe of tap water  79 Kč. A Pilsner Urquell beer 69 Kč. Staff were professional.

We tried three types of dim sum, which they call ‘pockets” green pockets was a special with scrambled egg (219 Kč), chicken pockets (189 Kč) and veggie pockets (169 Kč). All were nicely presented, but a little bland – they all tasted the same and only the soy sauce added any flavour.

Chi Xiao Mian has great reviews – maybe it’s all about the noodles? But they offer dim sum, that’s what we had and we were a little disappointed. Dim Sum spot offer a variety of tasty dim sum and I think we’ll stick with that.
